How to make more money With Google Adsense

What is Google Adsense?

AdSense is a form of advertising that anyone who has a Web site can make use of it and pull a revenue stream from web pages. But, your website must be approved by Google before ads are shown on your site.

Where does this ads come from?

AdWords is Google's flagship advertising product. Google allows other website owner to advertise their site, mainly in their search results. The program that manages all these ads is Adwords.

Google allows other website owners to display these same ads on their site. In this way we are helping Google in advertising and we get a percentage share of what Google earns.

This advertising program is known as Google AdSense.

People bought into the idea that its a lot easy to make money with this program, and they figure out that they are not making as much as they would. Google is very strict when it comes to adsense, they have a lot of prohibited practices and often Webmasters are finding that they violated Google's policies because no one bothers to read AdSense policies.

Webmasters must not only comply with AdSense policies, but their Websites must comply with Google's webmaster policies.

Google never disclose exact figure you earn per ad clicked.

The commision gained from these ads depends on the amount the advertiser is paying Google for that ad. We get a percent share on that amount. I heard people earning from as low as 1 cent and as high as $17 per click.

It depends on various factors, certain phrases/keyword like make money, sex, employment, etc. will fetch you much higher amount per click because these keywords are high competitive keywords. You can use google free adwords, keyword research tools, to know more about the competition on a particular keyword.

Advertiser pay higher a amount for more common terms, because these terms have higher competition and are searched regularly on the web.

The returns that you will get from advertisements on your site largely depends on:

  • Quality and targetted traffic on your site
  • The appropriate placement of the ads relative to your site's article
  • The relevance of the shown ads with respect to the article
  • And ofcourse, the amount which the advertiser agreed upon pay per click of that ad.

High Traffic Keyword

If you want high AdSense revenue, it is important that you have ads on your page that have a high cost per click price. The higher the keyword is searched the more will be its price. A lot of online sites give you a list of latest high traffic keywords. Make your website theme on one of those keywords. However, unlike the past, it is now important that your website also contains relevant original keyword rich content. Make sure you are adding fresh content on your website on regular basis, so its important to pick the keywords, in which you are knowledgeable.

Ad Format

Earlier times skyscraper ads and banner ads were most popular formats among webmaster, because they generated high revenues. But now days most web surfers ignored them. Most web users consider flashy banner ads very distracting and even their popularity has dropped dramatically in the recent past. So one should avoid these format if you want to seriously increase your Adsense revenue.

Ad Placement

Most web surfers people expect an ad at the top of the page and simply ignore that section of your website. As web surfers are now blind to banner and skyscraper ads because there are generally on top of the website. You must place your ads in a position where no one can ignore it, try placing the ads right in the content where the user can't neglect it. It will work surely, help in increasing the AdSense Revenue.

Try Experimenting with Ad Placement

There isn't any particular location which will work for everyone. When too many webmaster start follow the same pattern, it no longer seems useful. The best way is to, Try different ad placement locations on your blog/website and identify locations to get an idea of which format gives more return. You can always browse the net and see which ads location is attaractive to the users.

Interesting… I might try some of this on my blog, too. It’s quite interesting how you sometimes stop being innovative and just go for an accepted solution without actually trying to improve it… you make a couple of good points.
