Social Networking, Where are you now? Twitter new location based topics

Twitter brought the online social networking to 140 characters by asking a simple question — what are you doing right now? The next level of social networking asks a similar question — where are you right now?

Twitter has begun rolling out location-based trending topics.

The product is officially called Local Trends. In a statement, Twitter said the following:

“We’re rolling out local trends to 1 percent of users today, but we’ll share more information when it reaches a larger audience hopefully sometime next week. We’ll keep you posted when that happens.”

Right now very few users have access to this new twitter feature. So we cant tell what this new thing will contain. But here is something that might be in it.

Local Trends - Allows you to set your location and you can see the local trends around you. If you are not at home you can still see the local trend around you and can change it on the fly.

Only Limited cities are supported at this point of time. This is available on 15 US cities right now.
