Pagerank Bar - N/A Ranked Pages

A PageRank of ZERO (0 page rank) means that the page has a pr above 0, but still less than 1.  Keeping in mind that, Toolbar PageRank display is limited to only whole numbers ranging from 0 to 10, but Google's internal PageRank data has much finer levels of gradation.

When the Toolbar PageRank display shows a gray bar (n/a rank), Data Not Available, it has traditionally meant that either Google has not indexed the page yet or the site has been banned by Google.

So, if you see a grey pagerank bar or N/A rank upon your web page, you should not panic.

First make sure your web site is not banned by Google, you can search Google for your site's address and check if it is there in google.

site:www.domain.com

If it is then the site is NOT banned and you dont have to worry about the bugs with N/A pagerank. In this case, things will get normal within next update of Google Pagerank.

The N/A pagerank might also be due to one of the following reasons:

  1. The domain is new, and it is not indexed by Google yet.
  2. The domain is indexed by Google, but it is not ranked yet.
  3. Third the domain or the whole website is banned by Google.

At present, all you can assume is that a page with a gray bar is unlikely to be able to pass PageRank to any other pages.

Good luck!

Thanks for this explanation of NA and 0 Page ranks. I keep track of about 170 dofollow blogs at http://www.strategicmarketsegmentation.com/blog/dofollow-blogs-search-en....

I've followed changes in some of their Page ranks for a year, less for others. As I've seen NA and 0, I was wondering about the difference.

My site has PR2 earlyer, but now has N/A. I think that Google does not any reason to ban that site, becouse there are original content, without any unacceptable content. Do anybody has idea for some other reason?

There may be some technical issue as the same thing happened to my site before couple of days...even wen i checked in digpagerank checker tool and other tools, it was shown NA...I was sure that all my content is unique, I ve sold no links from my site, i never did excessive link building etc...i waited for it and its back now in 2 days.

Have had this happen twice. The first time went from PR of 2 to n/a, then about 2 weeks later went back to 2. Recently my site dropped to PR 1 and it's currently n/a. The site is not banned, nor is it new, and it shows up under the site: command. Doesn't seem to be a big deal.

My site has PR3 earlier, but now has N/A. I think that Google does not any reason to ban that site, because there are original content, without any unacceptable content.

Ah, thanks for the clarification. :) I was hoping that my PR 0 meant that I wasn't banned, because it was PR 4 before I got my domain name.
