4 Tips For Web Success

As a webmaster our main job is to increase the traffic and update site so that our visitors/customers come back regularly. Building the site is just a first step, and that doesn't guarantee traffic. In fact, even the most beautiful website with all the latest tools and technology will not attract traffic if not promoted correctly. Here are few tips that a webmaster should keep in mind.
1) Most of the site failed to recognize their customers. Your site is made to satisfy customers not the company. Avoid posting content that is not really useful for visitors, avoid over-flattering and hype about your company. It shows the ego of the company more than it helps your customers.
2) Make your visitors feel like a valuable contributor. Ask for the feedback and suggestions. Answer all the queries of your customers swiftly. Capture their email address, this will allow you to communicate with them long after they have moved on.
3) Posting old content is not interesting. Your site should have the latest news which should interest your customers. Posting dry product information which never changes is not interesting.
4) Always keep track of your site statistics and change your plan accordingly. With that you can keep tracking what is that most people are reading on your site. And which page has highest bounce rate, and then try to bring down the bounce rate by making small changes. Note how are they finding you? do they come and leave from homepage? How much time they spend on your website? Do they return? This data is very important, in fine-tuning your website based on customers needs. Remember, the biggest mistake of any webmaster is designing the site for what THEY want. A successful website is designed for the target audience, not to impress the site's owner.
